Each year, the Friends of the Alpharetta Library, award Scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

Ralph L. Anderson Memorial Scholarships

Shown accepting the Ralph Anderson Memorial Scholarship along with a monetary gift from the Friends of the Alpharetta Library (FOTAL) is Kristen D'Andrea, a recent graduate of Milton High School. Kristen is one of two recipients for the Ralph Anderson Scholarship. The late Ralph Anderson was an Alpharetta business man whose family was greatly involved with the Friends of the Alpharetta Library. The two scholarships are given annually to Milton High School graduates in honor of Mr. Anderson. Also shown in the photograph, left to right, are Ben Statham, President of FOTAL, June D'Andrea, Kristen, Laura D'Andrea and Chris D'Andrea. Kristen will be attending Georgia College and State University in the Fall. The second recipient, Kevin Patrick Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Reed will attend the University of Pennsylvania majoring in business and finance.

Dr. Robert F. Fulton Memorial Scholarship

A third scholarship is awarded by FOTAL and given annually in honor of the late Dr. Robert Fulton, former Fulton County Commissioner. Mr. Fulton was a strong advocate and supporter of for libraries in Fulton County. The award this year was given to Melissa K. Moore who will be attending the University of Georgia majoring in Business and Finance. Melissa is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Moore of Alpharetta. She is also a recent graduate of Milton High School.
